Why We Love.....Wolky Sandals
Whenever the beginning of Spring/Summer comes around, there is only one thing on our minds - Wolky Sandals! These fantastic pieces of footwear really do stand the test of time and are a bestseller in our shoe department all year round. Here's why we (and our customers) love them so much:
They are ergonomic - thanks to very special rubber soles they are the most delightfully comfy things to wear. Don't be put off by their weight when you first pick them up. They feel heavier than most sandals you might come across, but they are very cleverly engineered so that the weight is distributed perfectly when you wear them. Once they are on your feet, it is like you are walking on personalised little clouds!
They are designed for walking - therefore you can wear these all day long, doing whatever it is you're up to, without getting tired ankles or sore balls on your feet. They are not a shoe which only stay comfortable for the first few hours. This makes these shoes invaluable for long days out, or perhaps a day into an evening type scenario.
They look fabulous - the different types of leathers and the range of colours is phenomenal. We love Wolky because all their products are so refined. They are manufactured beautifully, and sit beautifully on any foot. This season we have more styles in than ever, making it very difficult to choose just one pair....perhaps we'll have a couple of pairs each!
They have removable footbeds. This makes them the ideal sandal for anyone who has their own orthopedic insoles. You can easily take them out and put your own in. However, the footbeds that come with them are fantastic - just the right balance between pliable and firm.
They are adjustable - and we're not just talking about a single strap or buckle. There are three different points on the Wolky sandals where you can adjust the tightness and fit. Hence, they are the most universally wearable shoe ever! If you have wide feet and slim ankles, they can be adjusted to this. If you are on a flight or in the heat where perhaps your feet might swell ever so slightly the Wolky sandals can accommodate this.
They are versatile - no matter what you're wearing this summer, they will look great. They pair fantastically with jeans, skirts, cropped pants, linen trousers, dresses, shorts.....whatever you want to wear, they seem to slot in perfectly and are a great addition to any outfit.
So, in terms of the styles of Wolky sandals we have in stock, there are three options.
Jewel - this is the first and original style we had at Katie Kerr. Still the most popular, and still our favourite. A lovely chunky sole, all black and very on trend in shape. All finished with a black strap across the foot.
Rio - this is a slightly more delicate looking sandal. Less chunky than the Jewel, but the weight is the same. The straps are leather, finished in the same colour as the shoe you choose. There is a contrast colour on the sole, giving it more of a broken up aesthetic than the black sole of the Jewel.
Salvia - now we are in much more delicate territory. This is the style for you if you prefer a more slim looking sandal. All of the thickness of the sole is gone, however, the support on the foot remains second to none. This is the very first season we have had this style in stock at Katie Kerr, and we've been looking forward to it arriving ever since they were selected last summer!
