Katie's Autumn Favourites

Autumn is upon us. The leaves are cascading form the trees and gathering in the porch of the shop. They look rather as though we have scattered them in an artistic way, but no, they are there to be swept! The drop in temperature brings a chill in the air and reminds us that now is the time to look for that perfect coat!

We have talked a lot about the joy of the Ilse Jacobsen waterproof raincoat , wind proof and all round super coat, it really does tick every box. Seasalt also have a lovely range of weatherproof coats, both macs and warm coats.

Avoca arrived from the Mill in Southern Ireland this week. Every time we open a box from Avoca, there are ooooohhhs and aaaahhhs as their colours and textures are so beautiful. The tweeds are in pinks and purples, perfect for a drab day. There is an elegant waterfall poncho style jacket in neutrals and a vibrant blue to add to the cashmere cape range. Knowing where these are made, having visited Avoca last year, just adds to how special we feel the pieces are.

We have a new area at the rear of the shoe shop which is evolving as a mini emporium, selling hats, gloves, tights, umbrellas and lots of tempting accessories for the season approaching…

So, whilst the sun is lower in the sky and the autumn light is shining, we can enjoy the autumn, snuggled in warm coats, boots and enjoying the wonder of the seasons.
